On 11th April 2003, AsiaSat's latest satellite, AsiaSat 4, was launched by an Atlas IIIB rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA.
AsiaSat 4, a Boeing 601HP satellite, is positioned
at 122 degrees East orbital location that offers excellent 'look angles' over Asia and Australasia.
AsiaSat 4 has 28 linearised C-band and 20 Ku-band transponders, with 16 operating in
the FSS (Fixed Satellite Service) and 4 operating
in BSS (Broadcasting Satellite Service) frequency
band. AsiaSat 4 offers extensive C-band coverage across Asia and
targeted Ku-band beams for Australasia, East Asia, and a BSS payload for the provision of Direct to Home
(DTH) services to Hong Kong. |
