AsiaSat's
satellites are monitored and controlled around
the clock from its state-of-the-art satellite control facilities
in Hong Kong, consisting of the Stanley Earth Station and the new AsiaSat Tai Po Earth Station, located at the Tai Po Industrial Estate in the New Territories of Hong Kong.
The new earth station is built on a 13,638 sq.m. site comprising a 5,711 sq.m. two-level building and six antennas, including four 7.3 metre, one 11.3 metre and one 6.3 metre initially for tracking and monitoring AsiaSat's satellites as well as for other value-added services such as C-band and Ku-band traffic uplinking and backup services to customers.
A new Satellite Control Centre (SCC), housed in the new earth station, became fully operational in the 1st quarter of 2004 to continue to provide excellent operational support to customers. |
